APEIDBart Cornille also presented a paper in the 10th APEID International Conference on “Learning together for tomorrow: Education for Sustainable Development” (6-8 December 2006). The conference was more than an eye-opener as it presented very practical tools to promote ESD. ICTs are critical to media involvement in ESD because they are a means of linking distant partners, storing data and sharing information. IMIH, therefore, could adjust its overall objective to support broader development goals to help create a workforce equipped for the knowledge society and knowledge economy.

There is scope for ESD to be better incorporated into the IMIH project. Then, the HRCTEM could grow to become a centre for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) since it is already supporting a lot of schools in
Hanoi on Environmental Education (HEEP) and on ICT integration in teaching/learning, management/administration (IMIH) – two important elements of the strategy for the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD).
