ICT4ESD Teachers’ toolkit
March 31, 2008
On 28th March 2008 IMIH proudly presented its’ ICT4ESD teachers’toolkit. ICT applications or Web 2.0 tools are infiltrating in areas of education we never thought it could- or would. For the past years, IMIH has explored ideas which have now begun to slip into the mainstream. Active Teaching and Learning linked to ICT or Web 2.0 applications have started to take root in education all over the world. ATL and ICT tools can also be used in the broader context of Education for Sustainable Development: Basic ICT applications or easy-to use commericial softwares for interactive presentations with sound or sharing pictures, documents and folders. More advanced Web 2.0 technologies or open source software including a website that integrates Google Maps, YouTube or podcasts, a virtual learning environment to provide information on activities and to host a number of courses or a content management system. All these tools twinned with ATL offer great opportunities to promote ESD concepts and eventually, transform the educational system.
